I was just informed by my human that Alice may have gotten into the herpes cat's food. Usually doors are closed/there is separation, but I was cleaning and unscrewing a closet door to accommodate Meowliss supplies further and :arghh::nailbiting:
I was told she either was going at the food or the water, but we all really know it had to be the slightly more appealing wet food Majyk (herpes+) gets.

What is the likelihood of transmission? How would this affect Alice in regards to her FD? Human says she was only there a second maybe. Hmm.

Herpes is very contagious in cats but if it makes you feel any better, something like 99% of them already have it and are just asymptomatic. Even more so if they ever spent time in a kennel. My cat Zuri has the herpes virus and is symptomatic but Spot has never shown any signs even though they regularly share bowls.

Thanks! My impression of it has all been based off of Majyk getting it and going outside, not eating for a couple of days, and getting super weak and lost for a bit. Alice was a bottle baby from a stray. She could've always had it, easily. And she was born like a tenth of a mile from where we live now.
Majyk, "Patient Zero" in the house, though, does sneeze a LOT from it.

Alice has a belly lump that needs to be further explored, so she's got a lot going on with the FD and that already. :\
