OK maybe I'm just gun shy and maybe this is actually a good thing - I gave robbie the SMALLEST hair over 5 this morning he was 362 cause I knew I'd be around for a bit going in late to work after working till 1am last night. I tested him about 930ish EST which is +3.5 and he's at 191 - without even thinking it thru I kind of panicked - fed him half a can of his food (he was hiding under the bed so that and the number concerned me) Should I worry? Tested him again half hour later and he was 189 so basically the same HELP

It's like a 40% drop? (Carl is the math whiz, not me) That is a little anxiety producing for 3.5. I suppose you have to leave; will Hubby be able to come back around +5-6 to check? Could anyone else?

I know these lower numbers are scary, but so were the really high ones, Ellen. If he has food, he is very unlikely to go down into the 40 range. (Easy for me to say, I know) He is responding very well now that he is feeling better, but I know it is nerve racking for you.

Well the food I gave him brought him to 220 (he responds FAST to food) which seems like a movement forward even though it's not much more than 190 and he got up and drank and is alert now - so I'm gonna go to work - we are at +6 now anyway - I think I panicked. Oh, well. We'll see I need a weekend home with him.

thanks Sue it is reassuring that you are always around - thanks so much for the support. He's home and probably gonna be REAL high at pmps cause I fed him a LOT (thankfully he's always hungry).

47%, Sue, but close enough
That was a nice drop, and yeah, maybe you panicked a little. But it sounds like you really didn't have time to do anything else. Remember the other night when you just gave him a spoonful at a time to slow the drop? That would have worked again, providing you had nothing else to do except poke his ears and ration the food. But under the circumstances, with you needing to get to work, I think this worked to stop the drop. Don't expect a sky-high pmps from this food. I think all it would do is raise his number mid-cycle. Most of the carbs will be gone 6 hours later. And, you may have avoided a bounce in the process.

well he had an interesting day - I updated his SS and than about 30 minutes ago my husband went to bed and left a bowl (basically empty) of chocolate ice cream on the table. I was in the kitchen and heard a clinking noise and yep - there was Robbie head in bowl licking it clean - I just had to test him a bit after that and he's at 324... hoping that's a quick jump from the ice cream. Also noticed that we have 4 strips left!!! YIKES - the new ones ordered on ebay were supposed to be here today but didn't come - so gonna have to be REALLY careful tomorrow cause not only do I HAVE to go into work on time but I won't be able to test a bunch till I have time to run to RiteAide and pay full price for a thing of 25 strips - hate this part of it all

Well, every one likes ice cream! So it's +6, right? With the boost from the ice cream, I would think he would okay for the rest of the cycle and you can save the strips for amps? And Ellen should be able to get some sleep?
