Wondering if I need to up Frazzels dose?

Hi everyone, Frazzles numbers are still pretty high, I'm wondering if I should start going up on his insulin again? He had one good day of numbers but since then they have been high. Is it possible that he is going low at night when I'm sleeping but not during the day? I don't want to up his dose and have him hypo at night when I'm sleeping.

Any suggestions?

Getting a night time test will answer your question about him going low. He went nice and low on one unit and now it seems like it is taking a while for him to level out again. The yellow this am was nice and could reflect a lower number overnight.

Any chance varied carb counts are part of the picture? What foods/ what level carbs? What snacks?

I'm going to get a +6 tonight before bed. He's eating fancy feast and Friskies only, and he gets "fish flakes" for snacks. I believe they are no carb. The difference in carbs is only a few numbers between each food, could he be that sensitive? Everything he's eating Is under 7%.

No, I wouldn't think that any of those foods/snacks would have an impact.

That first cycle with the green nadirs took quite a few cycles of the same dose before you saw the result. Then he got a few lower doses and then went back up to one. It could be that he is a kitty that takes a long time to settle into a dose.

I'll withhold judgement until we see the +6 tonight and the AMPS tomorrow, but other than that one cycle where Frazzel had the nice green nadir, it looks like an increase in dose might be a good plan.

1.2 or 1.4? I'm not going to up him until tomorrow morning so my boyfriend can get a mid cycle number just to make sure he's safe.

Either would be okay, particularly as your boyfriend can monitor. I am guessing conservative me will think 1.2 and Carl 1.4 What does your gut say?

Going with your gut is always good. If it's too little, you can always raise in a few cycles.

It's that ECID thing. No way to know. Get a before bed check to see if there is any movement.
