? Willow dosing help!

Yes, she's been having Zobaline daily since December 14th. So it hasn't been terribly long but she has been consistently getting 1 3mg tablet per day. I give it to her in the morning and notate it in the spreadsheet in the notes. I'll look into the L-lysine! I think my Mom gives that to her FHV cat.
Okay good. I didn’t see it in your signature so I wasn’t sure and didn’t remember. That’s good. It has only been a few weeks then. It can take longer before you see a difference.

Most cat eye problems are due to herpesvirus and L-lysine helps stop the replication of herpesvirus. I have had good results for eyes, but hit or miss for URI. I use this Vetoquinol product that is chicken liver flavored and nobody seems to mind a scoop mixed in their food.

It depends a lot on the cat. I have used these little 50 mg compounded tablets in my cats before. Some cats are very sensitive to it and will have ataxia (which can be alarming.). I have used the pill cutter to even make the pieces smaller for some cats. But I have not had a problem with the 25 mg compounded tablets

50 mg. was more sedating and even is able to calm a cat going to the vet if it’s not a super fractious cat For a very fractious cat, I have used 100 mg. for vet visits.

But does she really need it?
My gut is saying no... she doesn't have a problem getting around or jumping up/down on chairs/couch/bed. Of course I want her to be as comfortable as possible though. Maybe I can keep them on hand if the neuropathy gets worse or she seems in pain. I don't want to give them to her yet while we're just trying to get back to normal... ya know?

I agree. I would also adopt a “wait and see” attitude. I found that a small dose of Gabapentin really stimulated my heart kitty’s appetite. She was the one who was actually a great cat at the vet, but the cardiologist advised us to give her Gabapentin anyway to minimize her stress before and during vet visits— because stress can be an immediate killer for cats with heart disease. That terrified me, so I used it for that — and later in tiny amounts to keep her eating well.

How is Willow this morning?

Oh that's great that it made her eat so well! :)
You have such amazing experience with cats. And you take care of a feral colony too, right? You're a gift. I've learned so much from you.
So far, so good with Willow! She ate well, and got another round of the Terramycin ointment. Her eyes are already looking better today. I'm trying to let her rest as much as possible. She's really good at the vet, too, like your heart kitty. <3

It’s great to hear that she is feeling better and her eyes are better! And she seems to like the greens! We will get her to stay in them longer soon, I hope. She is running higher today. We will have to wait and see if it’s an actual trend or if it’s just today.
