I think my cat has worms, I noticed small, white, rice-like things near his butt tonight so I called to make an appointment and I’m taking him in at 7:30 tonight, about an hour and 45 minutes from now.
I’m wondering if any treatment for worms or any medications he might get will throw his numbers off? Should I ask for anything specific?

Sounds like he has tape worms. Very treatable with usually a single pill. However if you have more than one cat, you should treat them all. You don't need to bring all of them to the vet, just get enough meds to treat each cat.
I wonder why the vet didn’t suggest that when I was there. I have three cats, Blaze got the dewormer last night and all three for flea meds. Do you think I should call my vet and ask for dewormer for the other two?

I would ask for the dewormer for the other two. Even if you haven't seen any signs, chances are that if one cat has them, they all do. You can also order the Bayer tapeworm med from Amazon.

I just ordered the Bayer tapeworm med from amazon! The one from the vet last night was $80! And I needed it for two more cats, so the Bayer was more cost effective for me. It looks like it works great from the reviews I read. Thank you!

The Bayer tapewormer works great. I always order it myself rather than going through the vet. Tapeworms are easy to diagnose--once you see that "rice" you know what you've got. One thing to keep in mind, cat's normally need a second dose of wormer about a month after the first, to kill all stages of the tapeworm.

Ya I knew right away last night when I saw the little “rice” things around Blaze’s butt. I’m happy to hear the Bayer med works well, I’ll only order that if this happens again in the future because $80 for one cat to dewormer is crazy! And I ordered two bottles of the Bayer dewormer, so I can do a follow up dose in a month too. I was reading that in the reviews so made sure to order enough to be able to gibe a second dose. Thank you so much for you help! I wish amazon would deliver before Friday but it is what is right now!

Could not find the inactive ingredients list for either Drontal or Drontal Plus. Those are the 2 most common dewormers given in the US. So no idea if the medication will affect the BG (blood glucose) levels.
