Hello

Just a little frustrated this morning. I checked it this morning and it is 325. I gave him 1.25 units. I will try to check in about 3 hours. I wish I could get this right.

Thanks

Angela

Hi,

This is a marathon, not a sprint. But most of us, me included, wanted instant results. We'll figure Wiggle Worm out, give it some time.

You are doing it right, Angela. It is just a different dance for each cat and you have to be patient, as Robin says, until you see trends and patterns. Are you going to get some extra mid cycle numbers today? It may be that he has an early or late nadir - so +3 or +9 can be a helpful number. The more data, the more likely we are to figure things out.

For a beginning diabetic, your numbers are fine. And 1.25 is a tiny dose. And pay attention to the other diabetic signs - is he eating well? is he playing and grooming? Does it seem like he feels better?

Angela, I've only been at this about a month so I know exactly what you mean! I have to post constantly & still can't figure out what's going on. Thank's to the great people here I get through each day with this disease. I thought I would get to the right dose for her & we would stay there, I found out quickly that's not going to be the case. Just remember you are doing the best thing for your baby!

I like the 1.25, I would stick with that for a couple days barring a PS under 200 (or low mid-cycle #). You have actually had some pretty good #s, right now it's a fine-tuning thing, which is pretty awesome for this stage in the game, though I'm sure it doesn't feel like that yet! We are trying to get the dose for you which gives you a nice steady ride for 12/12 shooting. You could probably pop him into good #s pretty fast with a higher dose, but then would run into the same problems you had before of lowish #s and PSs you can't shoot. So that's why we are advising you go a little bit slower to hopefully find that groove where you can get the good #s without it being a seesaw of overly good #s and then missed shots. So hang in there! You are really pretty close I think - some kitties spend weeks in all reds & pinks while they build up to their dose, so you are positioned quite well right now. Hopefully you will see the evidence soon :)
