Well, after being worried sick the past week, wondering if Whitey would make it through his dental, with all of his health issues in the picture,ie...strong heart murmur, aids, older aged, and diabetes.Anyway all went well, and he didn't need oral surgery after all, just had terrible tartar buildup, pushing up against his gums and making them red.He came home by 3 in the afternoon, wasn't even groggy and ate like crazy! He came through with flying colors!I was so relieved! I was worried about him being extremely hungry for his breakfast as he always is,so I gave him his shot 2 hours later the previous evening to last him longer in the am. I took his BG at + 11 hours right before we left the house for drop off and it was only 102.. Which I thought was great,so he would be feeling less agitated for some of his stay there, and not be so hungry or thirsty. I meant to ask advise on this the day before but forgot to. Has anyone else doing a dental ever done it this way?

So glad everything went so well! I know a dental is nerve wrecking, and so glad that he didnt need any pulled. As to as to how you shot and fed late the night before thats what I would do because I was worried about the same thing, thats when it was a real eye opener about how his "LATE" feedings would help his AM numbers.

Lovely number! Glad to hear that the dental went well. I know you're happy it's behind you!

Good to hear he came thru his dental with flying colors! :thumbup

Lucian has been lucky, at 16 the vet is amazed at his teeth and has never recommended a dental. I have her check every year at his yearly 'geriatric panel'. I'd be very stressed too, due to his age, if he had to have it. I can relate to how nervous you were over it. :YMHUG:

Thanks for happy thoughts everyone! and this new place I've been going has better prices too! It was half of what my last vet was charging..this place is not fancy but is always very busy and has four different vets to pick from.Wish they were more supportive of home testing and doing dose adjustments. They don't want me to play doctor,I said, I'm not,I am just playing nurse.and besides people on insulin are allowed to do it without any schooling, and do it every day! Yes,I am certainly relieved about my sugar baby,NOW if my " SUGAR DADDY" ( DH) could find a job, I could really breath!( laid off and running out of unemployment in a couple weeks!)

Wow Joyce! Yeah great number!

So glad that Whitey did fine and that is behind you now.

I will say a prayer for DH that he finds a job soon.

T-R-U-S-T!!

It will happen.

Hi all, In answer to BJM,I am in the Willoughbhy/ Eastlake area, just east of Cleveland. And a special thanks to Kimmie for the well wishes and prayers..Whitey's numbers are really looking good today!

So happy that all went so well. I know how traumatic going for a dental can be. I dread it every year with both my kitty and drooler!!

Wow,BJM..that is one of the most " coveted" towns to live in Ohio! I have a sister- in- law who currently lives there, and has her own photography studio in the square. ( what's the matter? did you get too many cats and they ran you out of town? They are kind of like that ya know! LOL! )

No, I went to college in Nevada, MO, then in Athens, OH (a bachelors degree), then in Akron, OH (2 masters degrees). Got a job in Akron, and eventually one in Columbus, OH and never went back to Chagrin Falls other than a few visits to my Dad while he still lived there.

Wow,BJM..I'm impressed! My DH has a bachelors in computer science and one in electrical engineering! Me..just a simple hair stylist.

Everyone has unique gifts and talents. You have skillful hands; mine are not. I swear someone put thumbs in place of all the fingers!
