Where can I get prozinc quickly when my vet is out of it?

I'm in Columbia MD. I had called the vet to pick up a new vial of prozinc and received a message later that they were out of it, expecting it any day now. I have maybe one or two more doses left in my vial. Does anyone know where I can get it locally if the vet writes an RX? I called Banfield but they said that they must see the pet. This is very frustrating. I test my cat and he sees his regular vet on a routine basis. A written RX should suffice.

Walgreens might have it. I did a search for "pet meds at Walgreens" and prozinc was on the list.

That is true but not all Costco pharmacies carry it, its is worth a call.

And, you do not need to be a member to get from Costco. At the door, you tell the person checking ID's you are going to the pharmacy and you will be allowed entry.

Thanks. I will call costco and walgreens. Maryland has a law that says you cannot simply go to another vet to get meds. Vets aren't to act like pharmacies. You have to be seen by the vet in order to get meds. I'll call those pharmacies as well as Jack's internist who is at a local emergency hospital. She diagnosed him so it's in his records there. I may be able to just purchase there. I'm able to get both shots today but I think that's it. There may be possibly a half dose left in the vial for tomorrow morning.

Good luck Vicki with getting the ProZinc, I hope you will be successful. His regular vet should be able to phone in the RX if you can find it at any of the pharmacies.

Yay! The vet called and they just got their prozinc in! Fortunately I now have a backup. The internist who diagnosed him had it and I had made arrangements to go there. Whew!
