Kitty got her Diabetes diagnosis while having pancreatitis and pneumonia (and two teeth that still needs to come out). She is now cleared of both her pneumonia and her pancreatitis! YAY!
She reacted well to insulin when she first started treatment, but when her pneumonia and pancreatitis flared up and she got really ill from it, her bloodsugar went up again. The blood sugar has become lower as her other illnesses has healed.
I got a couple questions:
She reacted well to insulin when she first started treatment, but when her pneumonia and pancreatitis flared up and she got really ill from it, her bloodsugar went up again. The blood sugar has become lower as her other illnesses has healed.
I got a couple questions:
- For how long do we want to see what numbers, before we try without insulin? I know we arent quiite there yet, but fingers crossed we will be, if it keeps going well for her
- Is it possible she could have had elevated blood sugar simply from having these inflamations in her body for so long (at least since September) and not really be a "true" diabetic? She never had symptoms of diabetes, and she has responded so quickly to treatment. That combined with the circumstances when she was diagnosed makes me wonder.
