What's best toothpaste? Enzadent good?

After Ragnar had his teeth cleaned last year, Dr. Jen sold me some toothpaste and a little finger brush. His Nibs wouldn't let me use it then, and I misplaced it. Dr. Jen doesn't carry it any more and doesn't remember what it was called, but the most similar-looking thing I can find online, with the little finger brush, is Enzadent. Is that an OK toothpaste for diabetic cats? The first ingredient is *glucose* oxydate, which doesn't sound so good, but he wouldn't swallow much of it.

I think he'd let me use it now - he's been trying to brush his teeth on his hairbrush, and let me wipe his teeth with a Kleenex tonight. He should have his teeth cleaned again, but at his age it's a little risky -- even taking him to the vet last time set him back, and she was in emergency surgery and didn't even see him! He had been going several days before coming up high enough for a shot, and since that trip he's needed one every 12 hours. So we don't want to stress him any more than absolutely necessary - better to brush his teeth myself than take him for a dental if I can do it.

Is Enzadent good? If not, do you recommend another one?

Blessings!

Shirley and Mr. Teeth

PS: Dr. Jen said the toothpaste, whatever it was, tastes "wonderful" - to cats, of course!

Glucose oxidase is an enzyme, not a sugar.

You can use CET toothpaste in either poultry flavor or seafood flavor. Some diabetics cats use this and there is no effect on bgs.
