what to give a constipated kitty?

Hi,

My mom's cat Mindy has been kinda constipated lately. Any ideas on what she should give her to help things along? I know some people give Miralax, but don't know the dose. I've heard of pumpkin. Is this the canned pumpkin that you buy to make pie?

Yes canned pumpkin you can find it in the baking aisle. I have given it to my cat at times for constipation and she loves it. Tablespoon should be fine
 
J.D. was constipated recently. I gave tried the pumpkin and he ate it, but it didn't seem to help.
I now give him 1/8th teaspoon of Miralax every evening with his food. I've heard some people give more.
If she gives Miralax, she needs to add extra water to the food.
 
I need to put a bit of RestoraLax or LaxaDay in all of Oliver's meals as he has 'slow stool'. I usually put in 1/2 tsp and lots of water in each meal. You need to make the food soupy as the powders all draw water from the body to pull into the stool to soften it and get it moving. I also have to watch Shadoe and put a bit in her food because she has had to have her anal glands expressed a couple times and she was extremely offended by the activity.
