It is time to shoot and Opie is at 65. Do I shoot a low number? Do I just feed HC and get him up and then shoot?

I would stall, don’t feed and test again in 20 minutes to see if the BG has come up high enough to shoot.
I would not feed high carb food just to bring the BG up to shoot.
I am not a ProZinc user so would not like to advise you in this situation as to whether to shoot or not…
Have you looked at the dosing method to see what it advises?

thank you! I stalled, fed HC and tested at the 1/2 hour. I ended up giving half dose at the +1 time. I appreciate your response. Thank you.

When you stall, you don’t feed but wait until you test again to see if the BG is coming up in its own. If you feed HC food you are raising the pre shot with HC which will wear off in an hour or two and the BGs could drop.
I would monitor the first half of the cycle to see there is no drop. If the BG drops early in the cycle, it is OK to give a little HC then to bring the BG up before the onset of insulin.
