So I tested Sam this morning and we got a "Hi" msg from reli on confirm. I tried with 3 different strips.
According to the manual it means bg levels are too high.
This also happened on April 2nd and he was on 300's for the rest of the day so I'm anticipating the same thing to happen today.
Sam had blues and greens after his +6 yesterday but last night I had to leave and when I came back he tested 465.
I was just curious about this Hi msg thing!!

Thank you Gayle! I wonder why this happens? I know last night was little bad because I was late 2 hrs for his pm shot but the 1st time this happened 2 days ago, I gave his shot when I supposed to give, then he tested 239 +9 and the he went sky high in 3 hrs. Strange... :?

What insulin are you using, and when you give a late shot, you will get high numbers.
If you shot 2hrs late in that evening, what did you shoot in the morn? Did you give the shot 12hrs after the late evening shot or did you shoot 2hrs early by shooting at the normal am shot time.

Juggling around the shot times are going to really mess up the numbers as if you shoot late, it's a dose decrease, and if you then shoot early, it's like a dose increase. Too much insulin will likely cause a drop to lover BG numbers and then you will see the cat bounce to really high numbers.

ETA: I see you are using Prozinc so your best bet would be to ask the guys on the PZI forum for reasons you got the numbers.

Thank you I posted at prozinc.

I've been giving Sam a fat 1u for 1 week now. Last night I gave his shot 2 hrs later than what I should have , but 2 days ago when I also go this hi msg I had given his shot 1 hr later now that I'm looking back at my SS. :-|

Nadja -

I just posted on health about some meter issues I've had - specific to the ReliOn Ultima and ReliOn Confirm. Some of those little things you do, that may seem pretty inoccuous, may be the culpret... or it could just be a high reading. I'm sure mine were some of both!

Thank you Lu!
I also think the high number was because I was 3 hrs late for his shot but it could also be a meter error. I will look up your post on health!
Thanks for letting me know about it

I'm sure I've done my share of fur shots, and there were times when I shot late... but to get some of the inconsistencies on tests within a few minutes of each other just seemed hard to explain. Maybe doing those little things I've missed will make a difference. At least it won't hurt to try!
