I sound like a terrible parent. I initially gave Spanky 1U and he got down to 53. I talked to the vet on Friday and Monday and the vet said that she had seen that before on a cats 1st dose or when the insulin is not mixed properly. I got some smaller syringes too bc it could have been my error. On Friday, I gave Spanky 0.8U and his numbers were high all weekend, never getting below 200. On Monday, I gave Spanky 1.0U and monitored him all day, BG never got below 200. Monday night, Tues, and Tuesday night, I gave Spanky 1.2U, and his numbers never got below 180. This morning after he was at 365 and he threw up, I fed him and gave him 1.2U. I did not test him again, as I was heading to work. My husband is home with him, but he won't test his BG. He says he is acting normal. I will work on his spreadsheet when I get home. It will be late, but I will complete it and post. I have a after work meeting, but I will attempt to run home and test before my meeting. I was just concerned on how long I should wait to up his dose. I have the ketostix, but I have not tested him. I'm sorry this is all over the place, so stressed after seeing high numbers this morn.
