If you have pet insurance: When did you get it? What were you looking for in coverage? Which ones are the best for coverage for cats with diabetes (for medication, txs etc.)? Has it helped you in your diabetes journey if so how? I know insurance's don't cover pre-existing conditions. Did you encounter this roadblock? Or did your cats diabetes show up after you got insurance?Any information you can help with this topic would be helpful. We are trying to find a pet insurance and it is overwhelming.

Most insurance won't cover a condition that's already been diagnosed. When I got insurance (Nationwide) for my cats, I got the insurance when they were kittens and had no pre-existing conditions.
Thank you for responding. My cat is not diagnosed yet and I was hoping to purchase insurance before we go through the diagnostics, treatments etc. I've read there is a 2-week to 30-day waiting period before insurance kicks in. Since we are not yet diagnosed, I am hoping for some guidance on picking insurance and the journey.
