Louies numbers................all over the place????????????? what is going on!!

She is admin. heart meds in pill pocket for dogs that she received at the vets office - couple of samples, could this be the problem????

No real suggestion except to stay on the 1 1/2 units and see what happens. Maybe you need more maybe less than 1 1/2 units. The thing that is strange is the higher +4 BG.

You are using just a small piece of a dog pill pocket, right? If so, I doubt that is the cause. I have used pill pockets for quite a while for both Jeddie and Beau - the cat and the dog varieties (dog ones are SO much cheaper) and have not noticed any effect on the numbers. I use half of cat one or the equivalent size of a dog one for Beau's heart med.

Have you ever tried a dose less than 1u? I'm just wondering if he is maybe rebounding a bit. Has he had DKA or ketones? If you lower the dose below 1u, you probably want to be testing his urine for ketones - might be a good idea to test every few days anyway with these higher BGs.

Also, I thought the curve that Louie did last nite was good even if he did not go green low ~ I will agree w/ Sheila to maybe go .75 and get # throughout the day today... I wish someone would explain the bounce...
The way I understand it, a bounce is from kitty going low? Their bodies will react to that and go high.....how low does it take for a bounce? Could he be bouncing if he is not going low low????
