Hello everyone,

Trying to wean Tipper off dry DM. She is eating FF classic but leaves a good portion in her dish. Ordered Fortiflora to help with
the transition but it hasn't arrived yet. Read some threads about chicken dust but not sure what it is. What wet foods do your cats like best?? Any helpful hints ?

Thanks,
Patty

I haven' heard about chicken dust. Oliver loved Bonito flakes which we got at PetSmart. You can also warm the wet food up in the microwave so it is nice and smelly. Or you can put Parmesan cheese on it.

The FortiFlora should help when you get it.

I am in the process of switching a very stuborn new kitty from dry food to the same wet diet everyone else in my household eats, a couple of thing that has worked wonders for her is tuna juice, and a little sprinkle of catnip on the wet food. Both have got her to at least try it. Up until I started adding the tuna juice she would just look at me with the expression of "what's this?"

Fortiflora will work wonders when you get it, but until it comes in you can try just a little juice off a can of tuna.

It looks like its Insulin Support Group slang  .. but my guess would be that it is finely crushed freeze dried chicken sprinkled on top of the cats regular food.

"Chicken dust" is the powdered chicken at the bottom of a freeze dried chicken treat container (Halo Liv-A-Littles, etc) You can also just take a piece of freeze dreid chicken treat and crumble it up finely. It's great for sprinkling on top of food :thumbup The powder of other types of freeze dried meats work as well (beef, salmon, etc). I use the Real Food Topper brand. Lots of powdered at the bottom of the bag.
