Hello again,
My cat has been in remission since February 2020, but he was recently diagnosed with very early chronic kidney disease and our vet had us switch him to a new food for cats with CKD last Tuesday.
Since he's been in remission (with BG numbers usually very close to 100 even), a normal number of times for him to pee each day has been 6 or 7 times in 24 hours.
The past few days, he has only peed about 3-4 times per day in his boxes, and we have not found any pee elsewhere in the house. We have not noticed any changes in the amount of water he drinks.
So my question is: what is the normal number of pees per 24 hours? Is it possible that his 6-7 pees per day while having good BG numbers was excessive due to his early CKD and now it's getting down to a new normal amount? Basically, we want to know what normal is so we can tell if there are signs that his blood sugar is starting to rise again without having to test excessively. 6-7 pees per day was normal for him over the past 1.5 years, but we're wondering if after his change in diet that amount would now be indicative of a problem.
Thanks in advance for any insight you're able to provide!
