What flea products are the safest?

I haven't used flea products in year, as my cats were indoor only, and our patio in Portland was concrete and flea-free. But it seems my in-law's dog brought some in this week, or maybe one jumped in from the porch... in any case I found one on Mew. Combed all the other cats thoroughly with a flea comb, nothing. Gave them all a dose of Revolution I had at home in my "just in case" box, but I was wondering what everyone uses here?

I know all these products aren't great for cats (or people) in general... would an oral formulation be safer than the spot-on products? Since we now have a big yard and a back deck that likely has a bunch of critters living underneath, I feel I should have a battle plan

I use Revolution too. Minnie had a really bad allergic reaction to Frontline so I stayed away from that one. I don’t like the oral option. I just feel like it can’t be good for them to ingest something and at least Revolution is on the skin only. I could have it all wrong but it’s just me. I also hear from friends the oral pills are big and hard to get them to swallow

Both Bobo and Minnie spent a lot of time in my deck and in the backyard so they def always needed to be on a monthly flea med. i like that Revolution also kills heartwarm and other parasites
