What a nite blue all night long

Well Mya wanted to make me a bit crazy last night. Her numbers stayed all blue. There was no time to rest, had to check every hour. At +8 she dropped to 106. I was nervous that she would drop to low and then have a major bounce so I fed her a heaping teaspoon of food. Continued to check and she did come up by hour 12 so I could shoot. (but I was prepared to stall). I did lower the AM dose to .5 instead of .75. (I dont know how much affect the little bit of food had on her sugar as opposed to it raising on its own.) I will be able to test her again throught the day today. So keeping my fingers crossed that we get some blues. I hope my gut was right with the extra feeding and lower dose to .5 instead of .75. We will see. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O)

Looks like a nice run. I know it's scary when they start to see lower numbers than you're accustomed to, but the blues are quite nice.

It seems that Mya doesn't know when to hit Nadir. She started out at +4, but recently it seems to be between +6 and +7. (which is more of what I would expect on PZI.) She has bounced around a bit. I hope this +3 number of 271 I just got drops (not sure of the reason food VS paniky liver). I missed checking at +1 and +2 (even set my alarm, but slept right through it) We will keep at it. Hope my new test strips arrive before I run out

That was a nice cycle! I know you're tired, but you're doing great and I wouldn't worry about those missed tests...she seems to not be moving much today so you don't have to test as often. Looks like those lower doses moved her active cycle to the evening....don't know if that's a good thing or not for you! :-D

Today's cycle might be higher and flatter from some liver panic from all those lovely blues, it will clear out on it's own in a cycle or two.

Nice progress.

should I go back to the SS or stick with .5? I have a feeling I may see another purple or could even be red.

If the higher yellow numbers today are a result of the blues last night, then like Robin said - they will clear on their own after a cycle or three. So you don't want to up the dose and "chase" the higher number. What can happen then is that the same thing repeats. The higher dose causes a lower nadir, the liver panics and you have another couple of higher flat cycles.
I think the .75 would be okay though for tonight's shot. As long as you stay under the F1 you went with yesterday.

Is the SS on your spreadsheet anywhere? I think sliding scales are a great tool, and it's very helpful when somebody like me who doesn't know what the scale looks like can "see it" so I don't give you wonky advice that screws your scale all up!

Well darn, if you see a red PS tomorrow as well I don't think it's a bounce and I would go back to your sliding scale.....maybe shaving a smidge off as was suggested. I'd post a new thread "help adjusting dose" and the ? icon and people will check in on what went on since yesterday evening and let you know what they think.

I guess you should have gone with the scale this morning. I was worried that his P was helping out and didn't want him dropping low. We can get back on track.

Well, wait a minute...she's gonna get a 50% plus drop on .75 into a red...that flat cycle and red ps was a bounce, just a really late one!? I'm thinking Mya may be back in the yellow tomorrow, you might want to go ahead and get some opinions on dose if she is (start a new thread maybe), she shouldn't bounce hopefully after tonight so she might move for you tomorrow and a .5 into a yellow might be a good call after all. Cats never make it easy, do they?

Interesting, we need to rework your SS cause Mya is really moving it! Would not shoot more than .75 into a mid yellow am, not more than .5 into a blue, and maybe less if you're not going to be home. You've made great decisions on dosing so far, you were spot on today! This is awesome!!!!

*those recommendations are just guidlines in case no one else gets on with more experience, and they may be on the more aggressive end of the scale....you've got great instincts, so you make the call. You have the u100's so you can easily get a .4u of prozinc.

ok so I did not expect to get a blue this am, but WOW I did. I am stalling for 1/2 hour to see if she comes up a little. I have made my shoot range 190 and above. I think I will only shoot .4 this am and hope she goes by the path I have played out in my mind. maybe we will see some green today. I need a little guidance in planning for green (do I feed her some when she is below 100?) or ride it out? I dont want to cause another bounce. I also posted this to the health site.
