What is the lowest carb, healthiest, over the counter wet food available?

I'm going to start Franklin on Fancy Feast soon when his W/D runs out. With a 3 ounce can, I'm planning to give him half of the can and his sister the other half at meal-time. He is weighing in at about 16.4 but he's a big guy so 18 pounds might be a better weight for him. His sister is a little smaller and weighs about 14.4, which is about right for her. She is enjoying her temporary private dining in the bathroom right now...to keep Franklin from gobbling up all her food when he is done with his. When I get him on Fancy Feast, they will be side by side again.

Does about 1/2 of a 3 ounce can per meal sound about right, with him probably cleaning up what little his sister can't eat?

Most of the 3 oz tins will only have about 80-100 calories per 3 oz tin. If you are only giving 1 tin in total that is way too low for a kitty who should weigh in around 18 lbs.

A quick calculation is about 20 calories per pound of ideal weight so you would need to feed Franklin about 3-4 tins a day if ideal weight is 18 lbs.
