I wanted to post about this, in case people didn't know.

We started feeding Buddy Weruva WX when his phosphorus numbers came back high on recent blood work. Initially, we were mixing it with Stella and Chewy Purrfect Pate Chicken.

We then switched him completely over to Weruva WX. Over the next week, he became very constipated and then started to lose weight. It wasn't until about 3 weeks later that we thought it could be the food switch, so we went back to Stella and Chewy.

A friend told me yesterday, that on the Chewy site, the feeding instructions say: This food is not complete and balanced and should not be fed as the only meal to cats on an everyday basis.

I NEVER heard of this before for pet food. So three weeks of vet visits, constipation and weight loss where due to poor labeling and nutrition.

We all know what treats look like but canned food is not something i would ever assume to be a supplement or a treat.

Hard lesson learned and i want to be sure others know.

I had the same concern. My kitty's labs came back with a pre-ckd diagnosis with an SDMA of 14 and blood phos at 4.9 earlier this month.
I reached out to Weruva and spoke with a representative. She pointed me to the website https://weruva.com/wx/ which explains the disclaimer for "not complete and balanced" food is because ...
"Wx Phos Focused foods is not complete and balanced because it does not contain adequate levels of phosphorus." Per the AAFCO standards.
It does meet all the other AAFCO nutritional standards.

FWIW I echo your sentiment and fears so I've been feeding the chicken hydrating puree as after nadir snacks when she's screaming for food  since it's low/no carb.
