Wellness Signature Chicken in Sauce

So many brands of cat food. I got my cat chicken and a turkey WellNess Signature cat food with sauceHe loved it. I read somewhere it was ok for diabetic cats. He is at glucose 268 witb just 1 blood rest that sat for 4 days before it was tested

I don’t really trust this vet who comes to the home so I made an appointment with an office practice and they will do urine and other tests. But I am changing his diet. I did see the Dr Liza chart but this one was not listed. I have never seen this cat enjoy his food so much. He ate every morsel, so that’s why I think it is too good to be true smile

I noticed that carbs are not listed so how can you tell?

Actually, I see there is a new food chart and this cat food will not work. Poor guy loved it

Just a very general rule of thumb -- if it says gravy or sauce in the name, it's likely to be higher in carbs.

Thanks, I tell you. My cat is hating every low carb wet food, even Fancy Feast.Very frustrated.

Have you tried Tiki or Weruva. They're pricey but human grade food. My guys also like ZiwiPeak.

He tried Tiki chicken and eats a few bites and walks away. I will try Weruva or Ziwi pack FF he will not eat unless it’s gravy based. He likes Tiki dry, but apparently it is not recommended even though I found it recommended on a feline diabetes page . I am a bit overwhelmed

Hi - Wellness posts nutritional info on their website (a lot do not!). Find the flavor and scroll down to the Nutrient Profiles section and open the PDF. You then take the As Fed or Dry Matter values and refer to this post - Calculating % Calories from Carbohydrates.

Is the flavor in question the CORE Signature Selects Shredded Chicken & Chicken Liver Recipe in Gravy? If so, I calculated the carbs and it's 28.3% (so quite high carb).
