As many of you know, Tink is doing pretty well on Wellness Grain Free and is currently diet controlled.
I've been sticking to three flavors, since they are all 4% carbs according to Dr Pierson's list. The other flavors are listed as 5 & 6%. Tink seems to be VERY carb sensitive, so I'm trying to keep it as low as I possibly can on a decent food that comes in a large can. He's also very picky, but loves Wellness.
My question is... I'm looking on their website, and ALL of their flavors seem to have nearly identical guaranteed analysis numbers. The Chicken, Turkey, and Chicken & Beef flavors I've been feeding all come out to aroud 4% if I add up all the values, which matches Dr Pierson's list. However, the other flavors also come to 4%, or even lower, when I add them up, despite the list saying they are 6% (chicken & herring for example, list says it's 6%, but adding the values = 96.4%, leaving just over 3.5% carbs). Chicken and lobster also comes out to just over 3%, but isn't on the list so is maybe a newer flavor?
Am I missing something in calculating carbs? I'd love to be able to mix it up with more than 3 flavors (especially since some are several dollars cheaper per case than others)... but I dont want to gamble with his bg#'s.
