Has anyone had a cat or has a cat with weak legs or arthritis in it's spine. What did you give it to help with the pain and also what did you do to help it get some what better? I am trying to give him Tramadol which he just hates cause it tastes so bad that he foams at the mouth and spits it out. I tried rapping it in food and putting it down his throat that way. That did seem to help a little better. He is a mellow cat but the way he looks at me now is like he is afraid of me. He just doesn't want to do anything but lie there all day and night. He hardly eats or drinks anymore, so it is now very hard to give him a shot. Does anyone have any type of suggestion on what I maybe able to do to make him feel somewhat better and get his appetite back.
I ordered Zobaline TM 3mg it is supposed to help build muscle for his weak legs. I pray that it does, because if he would walk that would also help ease the pain and stiffness some of the arthritis.

Hi Julie

If your tramadol is in pill form you can give it in a gel cap, which will do away with the evil taste. Ask your pharmacy for small empty gel caps. Open the gel cap, place the pill inside and pop it in Godzilla's mouth; problem solved. At least the bad taste problem is solved...Godzilla may not appreciate having anything "popped" in his mouth.

Good luck

Mine has severe osteoarthritis in a hip socket where there is no ball on her femur.

We use buprenorphine liquid which your vet can fax a prescription to diamondbackdrugs.com .... It is costing $40 delivered for 10 ml.
We are on the tiniest dose (.o1ml) because mine gets agitated/dysphoric on pain meds. You just squirt it into the cheek pouch.... it doesn't seem to have a taste.

I also give her an adequan shot every 3 weeks.
This has made a tremendous difference in her demeanor.
She will play again and she hadn't been doing that. It also brought her bg numbers down. She went otj with numbers in the low 100's and now her numbers
are all under 100.

Arthritis makes a big impact on the big picture.
You definitely want to try to help lessen the pain.

I didn't find the supplements to help in her case. ( cosequin, dasuquin)
