We asked for a miracle . . .

. . . . and it looks like that's what we got.

Moggy wasn't expected to survive the weekend, but he's still here and showing signs of improvement. He's eating more and sleeping less. He's still shaky on his feet, but I'll take what he'll give.

He's by no means out of the woods yet and we're not getting our hopes up too high, but I'm thankful for the extra time however long it lasts.

Thank you everyone for your support

Sarah, I kept looking for an update and praying I wouldn't see it with a candle. Keeping Moggy in my prayers and especially praying that Moggy is on the road to recovery.

So glad to see dear Moggy is feeling better.

We will just keep sending tons of prayers from us beans and whisker kisses and head butts from the furry folks here, that he is on the road to recovery.

Mel, Max & the Fur Gang

Thanks everyone

Moggy just had a check up at the vet and there's improvement. He's gained 0.13kg (it doesn't sound like much, but he was so underweight that any gain is fantastic) and his BGL has gone from 38 down to 18.9. He's still dehydrated, though not as bad. And he's still sleeping more than he should be (he isn't hiding under the bed as much though, sleeping in the livingroom more, so that's good). He's eating like it's going out of fashion. A week ago he would hardly lick the food I put down, now he's getting through 4-5 pouches a day.

The vet admitted that she'd sent him home last week more for us than out of any hope that he'd get better. She was sure he wouldn't make it through the weekend, never mind show any kind of improvement. She also said that her instinct was to put him down then and there and the only reason she didn't (aside from giving us time with him) was that we hadn't tried the new vial of insulin that I had here. For whatever reason it seems to have helped to change the vial (the first one may have been dodgy I guess).

Now she's happy to not see him for two weeks. When he goes again she'll decide if she thinks he should stay on the same insulin or change to a different kind.

Over all I'm so so happy with how he's going. Considering I was looking into places to have him cremated this time last week, it's a total turn around. Now we're just going to take it one day at a time. We're probably still looking at weeks instead of months or years, but I'll happily take any time we can get.

So glad he is doing better. Now is the time to learn to test him at home to keep him safe. (Sorry, my children tell me nagging is something I do well.....)

I don't know how much longer our luck is going to hold out :(

Moggy had an emergency visit to the vet this evening. He has a raging infection and was given antibiotics along with fluids to combat dehydration. He's an unhappy little kitty at the moment. I don't know how much I longer I can keep putting him through this.
