Hello Everybody!

Oscar is still OTJ :) :) Which was achieved back in 2009 with help from all the awesome people here yay! First of all I would like to congratulate everyone who is here for being here. You truly care about your babies and are taking one of the absolute best steps toward their care. Despite not being around for a long time,(long story-surprise separation and move, but great now :) ) I have referred many parent of sugar babies to this forum.

My lil man is now 16 and is currently being treated for a UTI and CRF. He has a history of IBD and diabetes (which started with the steroids for the IBD).

I was wondering if any of you out there have had elderly cats with CRF and a UTI and mild hyperthyroidism. I have his blood values and am just concerned that something else is going on that is being written off as just the kidney and thyroid issue. I don't know if it is my gut telling me this or just me overthinking it. My main concern is that he's anemic and has pretty high BUN. His cretonne is raised too but is still within what the lab calls normal but other labs do not. He also has very high neutrophil count, low lymphocytes, and high eosinophils. I know these are a lot of technical info but I don't know of any other community that is as knowledgable as this one. And I don't know if I am being crazy with my concerns...

Thank you for any input advice or anything...

Cats with CRF often develop non-regenerative anemia. You vet can determine if the anemia is regenerative or non-regenerative. I gave Squeak daily doses of B12 and B-Complex to stave off anemia. A "quick" fix is ask your vet for B12 injection. This link will explain more about anemia: http://felinecrf.org/anaemia.htm
