Cadmium received a very subtly tweaked dose this morning of 0.25F. He ate half of his can, got very zoomy, vomited, then ran around some more. His numbers were pretty high both before and after his dose, and will monitor of course. Did he upset his stomach by running around too soon after eating? Or something else? He does have a history of throwing up due to being too active after eating, and sometimes straight up "scarfing and barfing" ever since I adopted him.

Is he eating too fast? And then regurgitating the food?
I have a cat that did that and I now feed him using a large plate and spread the food around and he no longer regurgitates the food. Also is the meal too big? Maybe try giving it in two lots with 10 or15 minutes inbetween.

Yeah, he has a history of doing that, it was just odd because he hasn't done it in a while- like long before he started insulin. He only got halfway through the can, so I don't think portion size is quite the issue bc hes never had a problem with it before.... We call it "scarfing and barfing" when he does this. It gets worse with separation anxiety, he will either eat too fast or hardly at all, and if he pukes it's typically by the door.

What helps with that is having someone (usually me) sit in the room with him so he doesn't get lonely. I was out of the room for a few minutes putting away his insulin and feeding the other two cats, so I guess he may have thought I was away too long or was anxious about wanting to be let out? Once I returned he zoomed about while I was cleaning up.

Either way, he seems to be doing okay now.... Sugar levels have been fine too, albeit higher than I want them to be. Was just a bit startling to have happen without warning
