Cali was just diagnosed this past weekend and she has been receiving Prozinc for a couple days now. My vet advised me to leave out a small amount of the DM dry for her to snack on between meals. Well I forgot to do that before bed last night and Cali vomited several times, stopped as soon as I woke up and put her food out. She was otherwise acting completely normal, purring and running around and sassing me as usual. Was it because she had an empty tummy?

Yes, it could have been an empty tummy.
One of my civies tends to do that vomiting action early in the morning, just a bit of bile and water. I make sure to always give them a late night meal just before I head off to bed. It does seems to help.
Was the vomit food, water, yellowish, a bit of hair mixed in? Or something else. We don't get grossed out here so the more information the better.
Cats do get upset tummies, just like people do. So, it could have been an upset tummy.

Welcome! ProZinc is one of the milder, longer lasting insulin we suggest. What is her usual diet? We think wet low carb food is best for diabetics, and any cat. A vet explains why here: www.catinfo.org
To lessen your anxiety about what is going on (and we DO understand - we were all overwhelmed and scared at first) you can test her at home. We test before each shot to make sure they are high enough to get the amount we are planning on, and midcycle to see how the insulin is working. Then when they act strangely, we can test and find out immediately - have they dropped low, are they high or are they just being a cat.
We'd be happy to teach you how to test if you want to learn.
