Caesar has been vomiting 2-3 times per week in the middle of the night, between 1:00-2:00am. He was vomiting for about 2 weeks before he was diagnosed, that was one of the reasons that I took him to the vet in the first place. It hasn't stopped. He throws up so suddenly that he doesn't make it out of his bed. His vomit has a very stinky smell to it and it is brown with no large chunks of food (TMI?!). After he throws up, he eats and drinks. Nothing is new in his diet except no more dry food. Do I need to take him to the vet? Has anyone else experienced this with their newly diagnosed cat?

Did you go "cold turkey," with the dry food? My cat was sick when I did that so I had to go back and transition him slowly over to wet food. I would at least call your vet and see what they think. That much vomiting could leave him very dehydrated. I have given smoky either cerenia or ondansetron for nausea and vomiting. Something you could ask your vet about.

Sounds like Phoebe's pancreatitis. Definitely get some zofram and or cerenia both is better. Cerenia is more vomitting and zofram (ondansetron) is for nausea/vomitting.

I weaned him off the dry food over 2 weeks. The day that he was diagnosed, I bought Purina DM dry, so I used that during his transition. When you gave Smokey the meds, did they affect his BG?

What was the course of treatment for Phoebe's pancreatitis?
It's mostly treating the symptoms and better diet. NoT that your feeding poorly. Phoebes was on Fancy feast classic chicken, when diagnosed. So wet food. Now she gets zofram x2 a day, cerenia at night, bupe 3x a day and gabapentin 2x a day. She has been pretty drugged, but much better than the untreated baby girl. Then when she feels better we back off meds a little. But she also has the IBD so 3 strikes against her. Your baby might not need all the meds ECID= every cat is different

No they didn't affect his BG at all. The only med that does that was the budesonide for his IBD
