Vomited after PM injection

Hi, Scout’s mom here again.
Ref:my afternoon post today,
“AMPT = 399, +6 = 88:
Well, Scout’s PMPT was a real
bounce, 431, which was a distinct possibility I guess.
So I fed him dinner, RC wet venison, he ate it & I gave 1.25 units of insulin. He acted like he was still hungry so I gave him 15-20 RC duck kibbles, and he ended up vomiting most of it up.
He’s had his Cerenia this morning,the earliest he can have his next dose of Bupe is
2 hours away. So I gave him 4 mg. of Ondansetron and will offer him a little food in an hour.
What would be gentler on his tummy,RC dry or wet? or the DM they had him eating whehe was in the hospital?
I want to do the right thing.

Did he eat it fast? What did it look like when he threw up? Still mostly intact?

I bet the ondansetron will help lots-- My kitty sometimes pukes if he drinks too fast or sometimes just when running high...

Yes, Chris, he ate it fast and it came out kind of like glop of smooth paste, if that makes any sense. And Jayla, yes I’d say that it’s staryed to help-he’s started grooming himself the last 15 minutes, which is always a good sign I think. And he did eat pretty fast, come to think of it.

May have been a scarf and barf.

If he eats too fast, there are ways to slow them down, like spreading the food out on a flat plate instead of piling it in a bowl, or putting something like a golf ball into the bowl that they have to "eat around"

my kitty is sensitive to "richer" type foods(duck) and also to any new ones...just a thought...I always think grooming is an awesome sign they do not feel pain or nauseated ...I watch for this...

The change to the duck was too fast, I think, especially since it is so brand new to his system.
Chris, I will try spreading out the food on a plate.
