Leroy has been on ~1/4 capsule daily for about 2 months now and there has been no improvement to his poop or IBD  His poop ranges from dry and crumbly to pudding, with or without a tinge of blood. It's currently pudding. The vet suggests we try Pro-Pectalin instead but that contains sugar. Is there another probiotic or supplement that is recommended for IBD? We've tried S boulardi and digestive enzymes and a Human probiotic in the past but none had any effect.

Leroy eats a freeze dried raw food in rabbit. His LC snacks are NV LID rabbit. He gets 1 mg of budesonside SID. He gets 400 mcg folic acid SID and 0.25 ml B12 once a month. I feel that I'm doing everything suggested on IBDKitties and other web sites but nothing works for Leroy :(

The only thing that keeps Leroy's poop firm and in the litter box along with the pee is when I'm dog sitting a certain dog. Civvie would love the dog to live here full time but that's not going to happen :p

Last full work up was in January. Leroy has a urine culture and new blood work with kidney panel scheduled for this coming Sunday.

Yes, we've tried S boulardii with no result :( The one thing we haven't tried is a fecal transplant or the KittyBiome gut health test.

The vet is starting Leroy on Flagyl, a compounded version from Wedgewood. It didn't help before though :( Really the only thing that keeps Leroy's poop firm and normal-ish and inside the litter box is the dog

I have heard great things about fecal transplants in humans when you have a source that is confidently from a healthy individual but I didn't know they did this with pets! I'm not sure how far along they are with doing this in cats and I imagine it's pretty expensive but if you have the funds I would definitely look into it more. Folks online seem to say a lot of health issues start in the gut microbiome being out of sorts.

If I had the spending money I was contemplating it because I got to a point where everything I ate made me ill. Lost 20 ibs in two weeks. Gained it all back again but still struggling. Would get it for both myself and Pumpkin if I could. :(

Animal Biome has a fecal transplant product https://www.animalbiome.com $95 for a 30 day supply  I'm not sure how long a cat would need to take the product for before it can be discontinued. The same company has a gut testing kit that tells you what the bacteria flora in the gut is, what's missing, etc and probably will recommend one of their products to fix the gut health.

I am wary of any place that sells both the problem and the solution so to speak. It sounds convenient but focusing on specific strains alone isn't enough to fix an entire ecosystem within a body in my opinion. Might be worth it if you're lucky and its just the thing they need.

Thought I posted this hours ago but apparently never sent.

I use Proviable KP. Biddy has Triaditis and had diarrhea for 3 years and this immediately stopped it. Over a month of solid stools! I get it at the vet clinic I work at but you can get it elsewhere.

Is he getting psyllium husk fiber or another form of fiber?

I tried the animalbiome product on my IBD kitty after getting the test done, can't say I was amazed at the results. Looks like their prices have gone up lately.

No, no fiber. Is that something he should get? He loves cat grass but mostly throws it back up immediately

Same with my IBD kitty, grass is on lock down. :p

Yes, try psyllium husk, powder can be mixed in food. Start with a pinch, and gradually work up to 1/4 tsp and see how that does. You may need to add a little extra water to his food if not already doing that.

Leroy will drink soup :D Sometimes I use too much water to rehdyrate his freeze dried food but he happily laps it up.
