Mr Ches needs to go back to the vet  Pretty sure by now it's not serious, he just needs a bit of help again.

We had a good start yesterday. He woke me up for breakfast. :) Nice Bg numbers too. By mid avie I wasn't so convinced :(
Similar symptoms. Bg going up, hot ears, no keytones. No temp I can pick up - yes sounds daft, but he gets VERY upset about nether regions understandably. Drinking more, weeing more and dehydrating :(

I've also not seen a BM for about 36 hrs. Which on the one hand is "ok", on the other, not so much (for me) Great, no diarrhoea, but worried he'll go the other way.

I changed his diet to try to control the diahorrea- bison and a t spoon of bozita. As a novel protein I'm hoping we can rule out any issues with allergies etc.

All bloods came back clear. Just waiting on haematology to cover all bases.

Think while he's in I might ask about pancreatitis blood test.
Hopefully a short stint on a drip will give us a boost again.
Le sigh...

Oh, no! Poor Chester, he must think the vet's is his second home, lol! I'm glad you don't think it's anything serious. Have you tried giving him a little bit of pumpkin for his digestion? It seems to help for both diarrhea and constipation - plain pumpkin puree, not the pie filling.

You are such a good bean, to take on all Chester's issues, and not give up on him, as so many would have done. He hit the jackpot when he came into your life, and I kind of think maybe you did too, in him! He is such a love.

Prayers and vines for a good vetty report. (((Hugs))) for you and gentle scritches for Chester.

Get well soon, Chester, so many people have fallen in love with you and want to see you back on your feet!

Update on Ches the Golden Paws...
He did indeed have a temperature - not enough to be admitted. The vet was keen to get him stabilised at home and supporting himself. :)

Following on from the trauma that has been his diet, I managed to find a novel protein in Bison. Im guessing its one he's not had before and hopefully we can rule out any allergy issues. Ive mixed it with Bozita, Slippery elm, probiotics and Psyllium husk. After giving me bald spots for 36 hrs, he finally passed a huge one this morning, just before I went to the vet. The good news is, it was big and formed. The bad news is that it was black with a few pale bits in it :( There may be bleeding into the intestine. This wouldn't surprise me because we know that he does have inflammation in there somewhere. :( The good news is that we can give him something for that, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Katherine gave him a long acting antibiotic - to rule out any infection / UTI. She has also given the go-ahead for Subq's (YAY!) and increasing his insulin dose! (double yay!) He is still quiet this evening with very warm ears :( Unusual for him. I have checked his temperature and it appears normal, so I'll just be monitoring him as usual tonight - just as well I am a night owl! :-/ She also said that he wasn't as dehydrated as he was last week when I took him in, so another positive step forward.

He is eating well and drinking. He has also been in the garden today. He is still worryingly quiet - I guess this is knocking him a bit.

Bloods have come back all normal from the last lot of testing. We are just waiting on the results from haematology, to rule out any parasites and just to make sure we have covered just about everything we can.

Im due to test shortly and Im dreading it as I know it will be a high one :( Subq's it is then... :-/ But at least it should seem we are getting somewhere - in small steps.

Thanks for this! Fingers still crossed. :)

You are doing a fabulous job.

I can't remember if you've given subq fluids before. Don't forget to warm the subq fluids before administering. No sense having the energy stores depleted by the cat having to use them to warm up after the fluids. If you need help giving subq or just want someone looking in on you, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks @Red & Rover (GA)
Just had a gut wrenching 30.3 :(

I have been subq'ing, I just hate it :( I've now got an infusion set so might make life easier for both of us..

Small steps are still steps moving forward! I'm glad Chester now has a vet who is willing to work with you. Prayers that this infection clears up soon and he is back to himself in no time. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
