Finally got in with my vet last night, that has common sense! He's only there 3 days a week, so I was being advised by the other vets that were there on weekends. He told me my human glucose is fine and he would absolutely take my numbers, as long as I'm usuing the same machine every time. He told me to call my numbers in and he would call me back with adjustments. I told him they wouldn't take my numbers. He said " You tell them I said to call your numbers in!" He said it's too expensive to get her checked at 6 hours every week when I can do it myself at home for free. This man... is a god send. Has never tried to sell me useless tests or products, and has 100% common sense! He makes me feel like I am doing it right, however didn't like that there is still a lot of drinking and peeing, there is less, but still a lot. We will check numbers and adjust this weekend. So.... if your in Deltona Fl and need a good vet.... I've got one for you!

You should start a spreadsheet and just email him the link to it.... That's what I did with my vet. Made it really easy for her to see the progress.

Your vet sounds like ours, a gift from God. Her Dad was a vet too and if she retires I'm putting my wife through veterinary college. When Nigel was diagnosed we thought our world had ended. She phoned us every morning when she got to work and every night for three straight weeks. She would not accept a single penny so all I could do was bake her cookies. Her staff loves her, she writes a column in the local newspaper and often boards overflow from the local shelters and wants nothing to do with the publicity. I know people that will do a two hour round trip to see her. Her walls are plastered with pictures of happy cats, dogs and bunnys. Isn't that what a vet is supposed to be like?

That's what I did, too. If I have a problem I can call him and he's got the ss right there in front of him. (Although he has never actually treated Squallie for his diabetes!)

Can we vote to have some of these awesome Veterinarian's cloned? :cat:
I like that idea!!!!

Years ago I used to use the Relion Ultima meter. The great thing about it was that you could purchase a data cable and download the readings to your computer. The software would then provide all kinds of reports. At the time, there was a new vet in the clinic I used that kept telling me that I did not need to hometest. I politely told her that was not going to happen and I would not be bringing in my two sugar kitties just for testing. I did tell her I would provide her with their test results if she wanted them. The great thing about the software was not only could it provide the info in a spreadsheet format, but it also had the option of printing out all kinds of graphical reports. After getting these reports for about a month for two cats, (they each had their own meter), she finally figured out that I knew what I was doing.

How do you do that. I am computer illiterate. :) tried to email to the vet but they keep saying they haven't gotten it.

I just did a Google search and found several that have Bluetooth to sync with your devices. That would make it much easier than having to manually keep up with a spreadsheet.

I think you could e-mail them the same link you used for us to look at Phoebe's SS here.
Open up your spreadsheet and click on the File tab. At the top of the drop-down list you will see Share; click on it. It will bring up a box that has the link to the spreadsheet in the top section. Make sure the entry in the gray-shaded portion says "Anyone with the link can view"; if it doesn't say this click on the little downward arrow and change it so it does. Then you put your vet's email address in the bottom section of the box. Click on Done and that's all there is to it! :)
