Because why?
Is the dose only 0.5 units?
Otherwise, that is untrue. ProZinc can and is dosed every 12 hours, as no insulin lasts 24 hours in the cat.

Your vet is mistaken. There are references to administering Prozinc every 12 hours throughout their website.

ProZinc is given twice daily unless the BG is too low to shoot.

Perhaps printing off the ProZinc Protocol and giving it to your vet will help. I printed off the protocol, a few articles, my spreadsheet and gave it to my vet when Merlin was first diagnosed. My vet loved all the information I gave him.
