at 20 mins. b4 time to give his shot larry tested at 400. i have no idea what to do? should i go up on his dosage? wait for now? this really scares me. at this high number, so many bad things can happen :(
do we leave their food out all day? once converted to wet?
very sad and discouraged. :(
i have so man y questions but so exhausted and hurting to type anymore.
thank u all.

He has only been on insulin for a few days, right? The 400 is a high number, but it does take awhile. His body has to learn to process and use the insulin. I would stick with the 3 units (which is a pretty high dose already) and get more numbers as you can. He didn't become diabetic in a week, you won't be able to solve it in a week.

Yes, you can leave out the wet food. Adding some water helps keep it from drying out.

Some of the best advice I got early on was to breathe. You are doing great - in a short time, you have learned to home test and are working on changing the diet.

What is the story with the insulin? Are you going to be able to change to a milder, longer lasting insulins?

actally he has been on it 2 wks. today.
no i will be staying on humulin N. lon story.
ok, going to give his shot now :)
