It might, but since we don't require blood from a vein, it's not necessary

The meters we all use are designed to use capillary blood so there's really no reason to have to find a vein. Those gadgets are designed for venipuncture where you need a lot more blood than our meters require

I think the vein finder would be good since it lets you find the vein so that you can poke between the vein and the outer edge of the ear. As others have said, you do not really want to poke the vein. If you do poke the vein you will get a lot of blood.
