My vet clinic is getting a little upset with me. Jones is over due for his annual exam and he was one vaccine that is now due.

I have delayed the exam as he is was referred to the IM. But nobody has put their hands on him for about 3 months now and IM doesn't want to see him for another 2 months. His last bloodwork has been awhile as well. So I am not against going in to get some blood drawn however I am really not liking giving a IBD cat vaccines. My usual vet is on maternity and since the clinic was bought by VCA...their policies have changed.
So looking for opinions before making that call.

Book the annual exam and bloodwork. Tell them you aren't doing vaccines at this time. Full stop. I did bloodwork every six months and vetty was fine with that. Neko's main vet clinic was also bought be VCA. :( Jones is an indoor cat, right?

I vote no vaccine.... the holistic vets at least in Chicago will waive vaccines for certain illnesses including FD and I am pretty sure they would also for IBD. Also I like Wendy's note that you are in Canada!

My vet stopped all vaccines by age 10 and earlier if a cat had illnesses. Stopped with one with CKD at age 9. He also only gave them every 3 years. Not sure how he handles them now.

I quit vaccinating my cats when they were about 10 years old. I have a friend whose cat died after being vaccinated. Chloe got a rabies vaccine a couple months ago because the vet wouldn't see her without it. I was already there, so had to agree. Chloe was fine afterwards. I can't be sure she even got the shot because they took her in the back to do tests. I'm getting really sick of vets who take patients in a back room where you can't see what's going on. And if you do some research, you'll find that these vaccines aren't 100% effective anyway.

My cat has an auto-immune disease and our vet agrees not to vaccinate, also my former FD and IBD cat also did not have vaccines either.
