UTI returned, curve or no

Maddie was found to have high blood sugar last month when she was diagnosed with a UTI. We got the infection under control, switched her food, got testing kit, was going to get a curve today, but it seems her UTI has returned, and her blood sugar is climbing with it. Now I don’t think a curve will be valid. I just want to get her on insulin or I feel like we’ll be stuck in this cycle :( I’m so upset.
 
UPDATE: I spoke to the vet (not my vet, the other vet in the practice), and she said that they don't always start insulin if the blood sugar is staying under 250. I've not heard this before and if the diabetes is causing UTIs like this, what the heck are we supposed to do? I'm hoping Maddie's vet will tell us something more helpful...but just in case when we go tomorrow, what have your experiences been??
 
Sorry for not having responded quickly it was ok that you started another tread is just probably everyone was a bit busy earlier, I've already answered in the other thread
