I tested a fresh urine sample at 10pm and my Keto diasticks suggested off the charts glucose level (>2000mg/dL). The vet gave me chemstrip 10. They showed off the charts protein, but a lot less glucose (100mg/dL). How can they be so different? One suggests increase her dose, the other not. She is still eating voraciously and weeing a lot, but she’s happier. Her diagnosis came when she had a UTI, so perhaps treating that has made her happier. She’s very feisty so even the vet struggles with testing with a glucometer. I’m not sure what to do. She’s on 1 unit of Lantus two times a day. I think the vet thinks she’s too feisty to treat. He only wanted me to give her 1unit once a day because he didn’t think she’d tolerate more. I decided to give the two doses after my own research.
