While I am still a newbie here, I wanted to give an update to my Kenny's ultrasound he had of his pancreas today.
The ultrasound revealed that Kenny likely has a bladder tumor and possible metastasis to his liver as there were spots on his liver. Didn't really say much about the pancreas. I was able to participate by holding him during the ultrasound and saw some of what the Dr. was seeing. They don't do biopsies of bladder tumors due to the spread evidently. He didn't know exactly what kind of tissue it was, but likely cancer. My options are very limited as there aren't specialists close as the next step sounds like it was a different type of scan from a specialist several hours away and then maybe chemo both very costly or the other option palliative care.
So for now, we are giving him an NSAID, that helps with pain and inflammation for kitties with cancer. He thought maybe once a day insulin depending on what I test but... He thought Kenny had about 6 mos. He is only 8 yrs old so I am an absolute mess. I am going to let him have some of the dry food that he likes and try to let him live his best life for the time he has.
Thank you all for the advice that you have provided regarding his diabetes diagnosis and food choices. I appreciate it greatly. I didn't see this one coming today.
