Here is my last post about the steroid shot that I mistakenly let the vet give Simon.

He tested in the mid-100s yesterday and this morning had a 94. I will check again tonight and this morning. I'm hoping the trend will continue.

We have 2 days of potassium supplements under our belts. We didn't notice much change yesterday, but this morning his posture is normal again! Hooray! Maybe it was the potassium after all. This makes me alert to kidney issues that aren't yet detectable, though. Usually the high urine volume (we've observed that) flushes out the potassium. Since Molly died of kidney failure, I plan to go ahead and put Simon on low Phosphorus foods. Does anyone have actual guidelines for choosing? We have a couple of things that he'll eat that are lower than the Fancy Feast that he was on. Is there anything else to look for? The vet mentioned a prescription diet, but I'm pretty sure it's no good after our early experience with diabetic prescription foods.

Thanks, All!

Thanks so much! We got a 115 tonight which isn't his usual 60-80 range, but it's in the safe range for now I guess. Will keep an eye on it for a few days.
