Hi Guys. First of all I must apologize or not posting sooner. The last few days between Rocky being so sick, the new babies and getting ready for my daughter and granddaughter moving back in, well they've been crazy to say the least. To be honest I'm exhausted and working nights doesn't help.
Anyway back to the important thing my little old man Rocky. Dr Doug kept him in hospital for 2 days and sent him home yesterday afternoon. His bloodwork had improved a bit and he was so much brighter that we decided to try him at home until Saturday with 150cc of sub cut fluids per day and see how it goes.
Last night went well. He ate a can of Fancy Feast and seemed to feel pretty good. Today has been another story. He ate a little in the morning and promptly vomited. I called the clinic and asked for an anti emetic for him but somehow the receptionist got it wrong so Doug me a prescription of Mertazapine. NOt a bad idea to get him to eat more but not if he's nauseated to begin with. So now I have Cerenia as well. So I'm hoping he'll start eating a bit better.
Doug is going to call in the morning and i need be I'll bring him back in to be reassessed. He's so much happier to be home though. He didn't get much rest at the clinic I think so he's been sleeping quite a bit here.
It's so good to have my baby back home sleeping with his little paw on my shoulder.
So Lantus Landers there's still more work for you and the kitties to do. I know Rocky would love some of the wonderful chicken soup that the kitties brought him when he was in the clinic . He was so happy that some of his old friends and some news too came to visit. I'm sure the Techs were wondering in the morning how he managed to get the cone off. (Thanks Tess. Rocky will love you forever for getting that dog gone thing off.) Any way please keep Rocky in your prayers. I promise that I will post tomorrow and tell you how things are going.
Well I better hit the shower. I have to leave for work in an hour. I'm so tired all I wnat to do is go to bed.
