I’m so glad she’s doing better. I looked at her labs but, as I suspected, she had some pretty high levels of many things, including her ALT indicating some liver issues. Her creatinine and BUN are also really high. When cats are sick, you can see an elevation in these numbers but hers was pretty dramatic. As an example, my 10 year old kitty just had an intestinal issue and his creatinine increased by 0.02. A recheck a week later showed it back to his baseline. Simone’s potassium was also really low.....could be whatever is going on with her. I suspect she might have CKD but until she is better with the issue that put her in the ER, we won’t know for sure. Also, keep in mind that if she had something like a kidney infection, it could really raise the creatinine and also cause DKA if the perfect storm was brewing.
When you get the new labs, if you can take a minute to load them onto her lab tab and let me know, we will have a better picture.
