Lucky finally had her dental done. However during the dental procedure while under anesthesia her lips turned blue but was still breathing which is a sign that circulation was bad. After that the vet herd a "gallop" in her heart beat. It was there on and off. So now they want Lucky on Benazapril and they recommend that she have an ekocardiogram. I found someone who does this near me, however, the cost is too much for me. So just wondering if there are any complications with benazapril and diabetics? And is there anything else I need to worry about with a diabetic with an arrhythmia? I can't believe this as Lucky is only 13 years old. She seems fine now. But we'll have to see if she can take the benazapril and how she does on it.

Slowed circulation increases the risk that blood will clot and cause a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, stroke, or block some other artery (ex saddle thrombus of the blood flow to the legs).

Discuss with your vet if giving a bit of fish oil, which lowers clotting function, might be helpful.

I've not had a cat with heart disease (yet), so I am unfamliar with the meds. You can search on Google for an explanation of how it works.
