Hello,

Griff is doing pretty well. His numbers are still fluctuating quite a bit. (I did set up my spreadsheet;)) I am getting better at testing, although last night I couldn't get enough blood and he got "ear-itated" so mission was aborted. I just went with 1.5 unit Prozinc.

He does feel better 'cause he is bugging me for attention! Yay, back to his old self in that respect.

Should I nudge up the Prozinc? Or?

That's good news!!

Can you start getting some tests in mid-cycle on the AM cycle (like around +4 to +7) and a "before bed" test on the PM cycle? It's important to know how low each dose is taking Griff before increasing. We've seen cats here that could go from 400's to 40 and back to 400's by the next shot time.....if their caretaker wasn't getting those mid-cycle tests in, we'd assume the cat needed more insulin when in fact, it needed less!!

Also, most cats go lower at night, so that "before bed" test is really important so you know he's safe while you sleep

Also, if you can get the dry completely out of his diet, it'll probably help bring those numbers down too....Even grain free dry food is too high in carbs for a diabetic cat.....it's like trying to regulate a human diabetic who's still eating a bunch of potato chips every day
