Update on Fred

Fred started eating yesterday at the vet's office and is continuing to eat Hill's AD, pretty much like a little pig. Test results show that he has a bad infection so antibiotics will start today. Nothing else seems to be going on, no kidney or liver problems. Slightly high BUN, but the vet feels that because he was a bit dehydrated. I'm also picking up a prescription for Lantus but will not be able to get it filled until tomorrow probably, so will start him back on Humulin for the time being. Yippee! I'm so glad he's started eating again and I hope with the Lantus he can be better regulated.

His sugar was 368. What is it supposed to be in a cat?

For a non-diabetic when using a human meter (they run a little lower than pet only) BGs should be between 40-120

Really glad to hear Fred is eating like a little piggy :thumbup I think you will really like Lantus. and I know Fred will like it better than N, as he isn't going to be on such a roller coaster ride.
