Hello everyone, I haven't posted here since Nov 11. To recap, Bitsy is 17 years old, has bouts of Pancreatitis from time to time which I treat with a Cerenia injection, Mirtazapine and S/C fluids if needed. Periodically her blood glucose has been elevated 150-275 but end of October stopped all dry food, only on low carb canned twice a day. Vets never felt she met the criteria to be considered diabetic despite me checking her BGs several times daily and showing them her numbers. The last time I posted on Nov 11 she had had a sort of zombie-like couple of days following a shot of Cerenia (not usual for her) and barely wanted to eat despite Mirtazapine. That day I went to the Vet again, had full senior panel + T4 + urinalysis. Everything was normal, BG a little elevated at the vet due to stress.
Sincethen she periodically needs a Mirtazapine 2mg, maybe once every 7-14 days just to stimulate her appetite and then she's fine for 1-2 weeks (strangely enough).
She gets and LOVES Whiskas Pate and the Whiskas Perfect Portions, gets those twice a day which she devours. No throwing up since early November. Her usual spunky curious self, you'd never know she was 17. Her fur is so soft and shiny. Her BG I now only check maybe once a day every few days and it always runs around 5.3-5.8 (95-104). I've been opening up and putting a 1000 mcg capsule of Pure Encapsulations Methylcobalabin B12 powder into one of her meals daily. Zero taste to it so she doesn't notice it. A good one I recommend for this reason (can just slip it into food) plus no weird/unsafe ingredients:

Medicinal Ingredients (per capsule): Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) 1000 mcg
Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Cellulose, Purified water
IMO, Bitsy was/is "pre-diabetic" like humans can be (actually I myself am...in fact some mornings I test my BG and then I test hers (we each have our own meter now) and we are the same at 5.6 which cracks me up LOL). I'll just continue to periodically check her BG and of course more if she's seeming "off" but she's been very stable at this time. Maybe one day she'll progress to actually full blown diabetes but hopefully not.
Thanks to all who helped me in the past, answered my questions, wishing you all a Merry Christmas
