update on Angel and pics of kittens

I have been meaning to post for ages but am so tired all the time, know it is with grieving Lianna and Cera.
Anyway...Angel went a few days with missing one dose because he was low, a couple of days ago he was able to miss 2 doses, and this morning he was able to miss 3 doses. He's had NO insulin for 36 hours and his blood sugar (on an alphatrak) this morning was 6.6 (just under 120).
I doubt he's actually gone into remission yet, but the signs are all positive, and with so many GA's looking out for him, he has every chance.
My friends took me to pick up the kittens just 5 days after I lost Cera, as the mums owner had some family problems. They were just over 6 weeks. They are little sweethearts, and Angel is so good with them, today for the first time he played a bit with them, and he has washed both of them. He really is the most amazing cat, he has gone through so much lately with his vet visits, tests, jabs, losing both his companions, and now these tiny kittens that leap on his tail and follow him, and is still so loving and sweet.
I miss my girls so much, but I love these new babies and they and Angel give me something to smile about through the tears.
Hopefully I will be back to posting more regularly soon.

Lianna and Cera are watching over you and sent these little babies when they knew you and Angel needed them. I am so glad they are able to bring some happiness to both of you. We can't wait to see pictures of these little babies.

That sounds like really encouraging news about Angel. You're doing such a great job!

And you have kittens.... Aw.... They sound absolutely adorable... (I know they can't replace Lianna and Cera but they will find their very own place in your heart, and will help to heal it too...).

I have a couple of kittens staying with me too at the moment so we have something else in common apart from having a diabetic kitty. I'm fostering two little feral tabbies.
I bet your kittens are way friendlier than my hissy spitty feral babies! (Don't suppose you fancy a swap.....??? ;-) :lol: )

The kittens won't replace but they certainly can distract!!!!

the new kittens are Shakira and Romeo. Shakira is the naughtiest/boldest despite being the smallest. Romeo is a bit shyer and I think is going to be really affectionate. They both torment poor Angel, their favourite game is biting Big Brother's tail. He is so gentle with them and washes them.

As for Angel....he has not needed insulin since Monday night!!! I'll see how he goes, won't celebrate unless he makes the 2 weeks, but fingers crossed.

Hopefully I will get chance to post more often now xx
