So Tonka is 10.7 (193) at +11.5 today. Sadly, I wasn't home to get him at nadir, so I don't know if this is coming up from a lower level, or if he's still on his way down (if he finally came off of a rebound). Hopefully he won't rebound and I can catch a few mid cycle levels tonight and see what happens. Should I still continue to give him the 2.5 unit dose tonight? I will be able to watch him, and have all sorts of high carb food for him if he winds up needing it.
Also, we got the lab results back today. I don't have specific numbers (received them as a phone message from my vet) but apparently he is surprisingly good condition, other than his elevated blood and urine glucose levels: his liver function is good, no sign of kidney issues, his red and white blood cell counts are good (so if he had an infection, I would I be correct to assume that this means the antibiotic did clear it up?) and he has no evidence of any urinary tract inflamation/blood or ketones. So I'll be scheduling a dental for him, and get his teeth looked after while things are going well for him internally.
